Celebrate Miami-Dade Farmers Month: Where Fresh Flavors and Local Pride Bloom

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is thrilled to welcome back Miami-Dade Farmers Month — a countywide celebration that brings the heart of South Dade’s farming community straight to your table. From November 1 through 30, locals and visitors can dive into the region’s agricultural roots — discovering where the freshest produce and the warmest smiles come from.

You can check out all the events, special offers, and participating farms at MiamiFarmersMonth.com.

Rooted in Local Pride

Did you know that Miami-Dade’s farming community is one of the most unique treasures in all of Florida?
“Farmers Month is our way of celebrating the people and places that feed both our bodies and our sense of belonging,” says David Whitaker, President and CEO of the GMCVB.

South Dade is more than farmland — it’s a living part of Florida’s story. Nearly 89% of the crops grown here travel across the U.S. and Canada, carrying a taste of Miami wherever they go. Has it ever crossed your mind how far that mango or tomato might have traveled before landing on your plate?

Growing More Than Crops

“Miami-Dade County is a true powerhouse in Florida agriculture,” says Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins. “We generate over $1 billion in crop value every year on fewer than 70,000 acres.”

Impressive, right? But beyond the numbers, South Dade’s farms grow something even more valuable — connection. When you walk through a local market, taste a homemade jam, or join a hayride with your family, you’re experiencing a piece of Miami’s heart.

Have you ever picked your own strawberries or shared a sunset at a local farm? This November might be the perfect time to start.

A Month of Fun, Food & Farming

The celebration kicks off with the third annual Hometown Heroes Parade & Festival on Saturday, November 1, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Tropical Park. It’s Miami’s way of saying thank you to healthcare professionals, law enforcement, first responders, and frontline heroes. Expect live music, food trucks, decorated floats, and plenty of good vibes.

Throughout the month, the fun continues with farm experiences that bring South Dade’s charm to life — from berry picking and hayrides to eco tours and family events.

Local favorites like The Berry Farm, Knaus Berry Farm, The Little Farm, and Pintos Farm offer a delicious mix of tradition and adventure. Meanwhile, Radhe Farms, Paradise Farms, and Tinez Farms are showing how sustainable, organic practices keep Miami’s soil — and spirit — thriving.

Ever wondered what it feels like to spend a day surrounded by nature, good food, and even better people? South Dade’s farms are ready to show you.
